Happy 80th Birthday!!

When you are little, you look forward to a big Birthday Party with Balloons, lots of presents and cake and Ice Cream. As you get older it doesn't seem to be as important. At some point though, it becomes a celebration that we have reached a milestone, be it, 65, 70 or in Sheldon's case 80.

Sheldon is my Father-in-law and he will be 80 on the 31st. Today the family celebrated by throwing him a "surprise" party. We had all sorts of yummy food. Emilee and Shala made these little smokies wrapped in bacon with brown sugar drizzle. (I know, not heart smart but mighty delicious) Mandy made some Awesome cupcakes. Saige made some tasty "funeral" potatoes and Deanna made scrumptious fruit pizza. (I ate a lot of it but since it had fruit in it , it is healthy. Isn't it?)

We played games......... Fruit Basket, Spoons, Musical Chairs, Rook, Panic! AND we did the Hokey Pokey. After the games were over everyone had a chance to tell a story or fun memory of this great man. Yes, there were a lot of stories of mishaps, embarrassing moments and a few touching stories of his endless service. Sheldon is the type of guy that would do ANYTHING for anyone, any time. He's a great guy!!!!

Here is the whole family.....Gary, Michele, Rod, Deanna, Rhonda, Marcie, Gleneita, Chad
Sheldon and Ellen

Here's my cute little family. (why is it that someone always has to be making a funny face?) I had to bribe them to get this photo so I won't complain.

It was a nice day with family, playing, laughing and having fun.
What a great way to spend your Birthday!
