End of the Year Activities

Eli's class had their "Patriotic" program the other day. They talked and sang about the Constitution, Voting, and the History of the Country. It is so funny to see the difference between the age groups when it comes to programs. The younger kids are so excited to perform. I noticed that the older kids act like it's going to kill them if they have to sing or do any kind of actions to a song. They did a good job with all their parts.

Thursday was Amelia's "Field Trip" to Josie's Cabin. It was a little cold and windy but we were able to hike up into the canyon and do some exploring. It amazes me that I have lived in the area most of my life and have never been to this historical site. There wasn't much to the cabin (didn't even take a picture of it) duh! but the area was very pretty. I tried to imaging what it was like to live up in the area back when Josie did. No car, no running water, no electricity. In the summer it wouldn't have been bad. There was a stream running through the property and it was down in a shadowy meadow. But winter would have been awful!!!

Box Canyon - The further in that you hiked, the more dense the rocks were. The kids enjoyed crawling around on the rocks and exploring.
