I KNEW IT!!!

Three days into summer vacation and my kids are already driving me crazy! They think that summer vacation means staying up till all hours of the night, sleeping in as late as they want, friends over or being gone all the time and not lifting a finger in the house. REALITY CHECK!
This morning they were informed that they could help around the house or sit in their room all day. (right now I hear cleaning going on in the kitchen) yesssss!

Yesterday our stake took 4 buses out to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. We met at the Stake Center and left around 7:00am. When we arrived at the Temple grounds they had us go into this huge tent and watch a short movie about the area. It also talked about the growth of the church and the many Temples it has built. We then went on a tour of the Temple. It was absolutely beautiful!!! All the halls were tiled. There are two huge staircases that go up to the second floor. The chandeliers were amazing. The whole place is just so pretty. After you finish the tour, you go into this huge beautifully decorated tent where there is a player piano playing hymns. It has several different sitting areas with real furniture. They had cookies and bottled water for refreshments. I was glad that my kids were able to go and experiance it all.
Afterwards, we went over to a local Stake Center and had a BBQ and played games. The Rowells from 4th ward brought their huge cooker out and did all the cooking. We had hamburgers, hot dogs and hot links. The food was good , the weather was nice, the whole trip was great!
We got back into town around 6:00pm.
I think we are so lucky to be able to attend an open house. That is the second one that I have been to. The other one was the Vernal Temple. It is just amazing the spirit you feel. I would recommend that anyone who is able should go and see the beauty of the Temple.

Oh well, its summer! Now that Spencer the cool new kid in town is living at my house, we are more popular than ever!
